The police, on Tuesday, arrested Telugu Desam Party president Nara Chandrababu Naidu and other activists, for staging a dharna at L B Nagar crossroads. Naidu was protesting the fee reimbursement issue.
Addressing the dharna, Chandrababu Naidu said that poor students were being distanced from higher education in view of the confusion and chaos created by the Congress government over the issue of reimbursement of fees.
He alleged that the government lacked commitment over the implementation of reimbursement of fee to BCs, minorities and EBCs.
Naidu demanded that the fee reimbursement scheme be made applicable to all poor students who cannot afford higher education. He said that the TDP would continue its fight till the government agrees to pay the entire fee for all the students.
After the arrest, Naidu and other leaders were shifted to the Vanasthalipuram police station. (INN)
