The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has decided to intensify its agitation over the arrest of its President N Chandrababu Naidu, who is on fast since last Friday.
Condemning the government inaction on farmers issue, the Telugu Desam Party leaders and Left party leaders held a meeting at NTR Trust Bhavan.
Addressing the media after the convention, senior TDP leader Devender Goud said the meeting took a decision to intensify its agitation until the government announced a remunerative package for farmers.
He said that the meeting decided to stage massive dharnas in front of Tahsildar offices in mandal headquarters on Tuesday.
The party has decided to paralyze the work at District Collectorates by picketing the places from Wednesday, Goud revealed.
If the government did not take any favourable decision on revised relief package for farmers, the party cadre would blockade all national and state highways on December 23rd, Goud said.
Condemning the police highhandedness, the meeting expressed serious concern over the deteriorating health of their leader.
CPI state General Secretary K Narayana, who was also present at the meeting, demanded that the government held talks with farmers and Naidu to solve the imbroglio.
Narayana expressed his full support and solidarity to the TDP agitation for the cause of farmers.
The meeting was attended by TDP and Left leaders.
