At a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Tuesday, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu gave a presentation on the various issues besetting Andhra Pradesh, including the drought situation in the State.
The AP CM submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister on 12 important issues. Some of them are:
Special status to the State Filling the 2014-15 revenue deficit Financial assistance for the construction of Amaravathi Release of funds for the Polavaram project Help to develop Rayalaseema and the north Andhra region A special development package Increase in jurisdiction of FRBM Establishment of new central institutions Increasin the number of constituencies
The meeting was attended by AP Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, the State Chief Secretary Tucker and other senior officials.
Later, the Chief Minister had a one-to-one meeting with the Prime Minister for some 20 minutes. The CM also met Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.
Addressing a press conference after his engagements, Naidu said that the PM had told him that he would address AP's concerns at the earliest.
