Ch Malla Reddy Booked For Land Grabbing
Telangana Labour Minister Ch Malla Reddy and his son were booked under Sections 447 (criminal trespass) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC after a woman accused them of land grabbing.
A case was registered against Telangana Labour Minister Ch Malla Reddy and his son Bhadra Reddy yesterday, after a woman named Ponnaboina Shyamala Devi alleged that the latter had grabbed 20 guntas of her land in Hyderabad.
The case was lodged against the minister and his son under Sections 447 (criminal trespass) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC after Shyamala Devi filed a complaint at the Dundigal police station.
She accused the minister's son and his accomplices of grabbing her land and threatening to kill her. She also accused them of coercing her into selling her remaining land.
Responding to the accusations, the minister today claimed that the charges were false.
"There is no truth to the allegations of land grabbing being made against me. I would never do such a thing. In fact, in my capacity as a minister, I am even ready to help those who have levelled these charges," Reddy told the media.
He also claimed that he did not even know the woman who had accused him and his son of grabbing her land.
