Former minister and Medchal MLA Malla Reddy reacted sharply to Congress leaders' allegations that what he had in his possession in the Petbasheerabad land dispute were false documents.
Speaking to media persons on the issue on Sunday, Reddy said that he was ready to resign as MLA, and would also leave everything behind, if the Dharmapuri MLA and Government Whip Adluri Lakshman proved that the documents he (Reddy) had with him for the land were fake.
"Is government whip Lakshman ready to prove his allegations against me?" he asked.
Reddy alleged that it was in fact the documents with the Congress leaders that were forged. He also said that the survey had just been completed and that everyone should wait for the report to come.
"I will meet Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the Revenue Minister and the district Collector on Monday. I will show them the original land documents that I have," he said.
Meanwhile, the investigation into the land dispute is underway. Revenue officials conducted a survey on the disputed land near Suchitra, and surveyed the boundaries thoroughly in the presence of both the disputing parties and identified survey numbers 82 and 83. The officials are in the process of preparing the survey report.
With people from both the groups continuing to claim that the land belongs to them, the report of the revenue officials has become crucial in the issue now.
