Telangana University Certificates To Go Online
In order to weed out fake degrees, the government is digitizing all the records of the last 30 years, and enabling online access to them for verification.
Education Minister Jagadeshwar Reddy on Tuesday directed all universities of Telangana to digitise the records of all certificates issued by them in the last 30 years, to facilitate their online verification.
Speaking to media persons after holding a review meeting with the registrars and vice-chancellors of universities of Telangana, and Police Commissioner M Mahender Reddy, the minister informed that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was in receipt of complaints from the IT sector on the use of fake degrees by job seekers.
In order to weed out such fake degrees, the government had decided to digitise all the records of the last 30 years immediately.
Instead of GAD certification, all the companies will now be able to verify the certificates online.
He said that the use of fake certificates would affect the brand image of Telangana, and therefore steps were being taken to end this menace permanently.
The minister also directed the Police Commissioner to register criminal cases against those who prepared, sold and used fake certificates.
Jagadeshwar Reddy also advised the teachers' unions to resolve their differences as the government was unable to take concrete decisions on various issues due to divided opinions among various unions. (INN)
