Indicating that the Centre was not averse to offering special status to Andhra Pradesh, and to downplay the criticism, Union Commerce Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today said the former would keep every promise made during bifurcation.
Talking to the media on Sunday, Sitharaman said that Union Minister Indrajith Singh's comments were confined to just Bihar, and were not related to Andhra Pradesh. There was no comparison between Andhra Pradesh and Bihar, which were separate cases, she said.
Singh had raised the recommendations of the 14th Finance Commission in the context only of Bihar, Sitharaman emphasized, and averred that the Centre would not going back on its promises to Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
The Union minister also slammed the Opposition for coming in the way of Parliament during its sessions.
The Congress feared that the Parliament sessions would fetch a good name for the NDA, she alleged, and so was obstructing them, only for political gains.
