The Centre is likely to take a decision on the formation of the next government in Andhra Pradesh by the end of Monday.
The AICC In-charge of Andhra Pradesh Congress Affairs, Digvijay Singh, held a series of discussions with the senior Congress leaders on Monday.
He held deliberations with APCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana and reportedly discussed the issue of appointing a successor to Kiran Kumar Reddy in the state.
Digvijay Singh also held talks with Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar and Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha.
Rajya Sabha MP M A Khan and the Deputy Chief Minister also met AICC President Sonia Gandhi on Monday morning.
Although they claimed that they had met the Congress supremo to thank her for ensuring the passing of the Telangana bill in the Parliament, sources say that they also discussed the possibilities of the formation of the next government in the state.
Meanwhile, Union Minister of State for Finance, J D Seelam, claimed that the decision about the formation of the successor government will be decided by the end of Monday.
Speaking to reporters in Hyderabad, he said that they would try their level best to improve the prospects of the Congress party in both the Telangana region as well as in the residual regions of Andhra Pradesh. (INN)
