Telangana Finance and Health Minister T Harish Rao today slammed the Centre for failing to fill about eight lakh Central government job vacancies across the country.
Rao was reacting to the protest for jobs by BJP state president and MP Bandi Sanjay.
Condemned the Telangana BJP leaders for their "fake" protests on vacancies in the Telangana government, the minister said that Parliament was informed during its recent session by a minister of the BJP government itself that there were 8,72,243 jobs lying vacant and to be filled, and demanded that the Centre fill those eight lakh vacancies first before getting its minions to launch protests in the state.
Rao also ridiculed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not being able to create 2 crore jobs a year as he had promised in his election campaigning.
"While the Centre failed to keep its promise, the government in Telangana created 16 lakh of IT and related jobs in recent times," he claimed.
"The BJP government and its leaders have no right to talk about jobs, or to make accusations against the state on any issue. The Centre is not supportive towards the state government making rapid strides in all sectors," he added, and sought a white paper from the Centre on the government job vacancies filled by it.
He also slammed the BJP leaders for misleading the farmers and the people of the state on the paddy procurement issue.
"Why did the BJP government fail to lift our paddy despite repeated pleas? The Centre is also deaf to our appeals for national category status to an irrigation project, and has cancelled the promised ITIR, the coach factory, the steel factory and funds for flagship programs in Telangana," he said.
Rao also hit out at TPCC chief Revanth Reddy for his comments on KCR's Erravalli farmhouse and his "false" charges on paddy being grown there.
