The first case involves the alleged neglect of an elderly couple in Khammam district, which was reported in a vernacular daily, indicating possible violations of their right to live with dignity and gaps in the implementation of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007.
Bhukya Bikya (82) and his wife Hampili (79), residents of Padamati Thanda in Khammam Rural mandal, are allegedly being neglected by their sons despite their financial stability.
The second case relates to a four-year-old boy in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district who reportedly lost an eye in a stray dog attack, raising concerns over public safety and municipal negligence.
Terming both issues serious, the Commission has sought reports by April 27 from the Collectors of the two districts - Khammam and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri - on the action taken, welfare measures and preventive steps.
