Taking serious exception to the Central finance corporations stopping loans to Telangana's power projects, Power Minister Jagadish Reddy today alleged that the union government was planning to sabotage the free power supply in Telangana.
Speaking to media persons, Reddy said that Transco had made all the necessary arrangements to supply power in conformity with the rising power needs of the farmers and the people, and that the state government was ready to ensure supply of 17,000 MW of power.
However, it was atrocious that the BJP government at the Centre was stopping loans to the state from the Power Finance Corporation and rural electrification institutions, he said.
The Centre was showing step-motherly treatment to the Telangana government though the state occupied a seat in the front row in per capita power consumption, he lamented.
