CBI Joint Director V V Lakshminarayana has been transferred.
The Maharashtra cadre officer has been transferred to his own home state. He had come on a 7-year deputation, as DIG, in June 2006.
During his stay here, he dealt with important cases like the Satyam Computers scam, the Obulampuram Mining case, and most importantly, with Y S Jaganmohan Reddy's Disproportionate Assets (DA) case, amongst others.
In the the Gali Janardhan Reddy
bail scam, he was responsible for the arrest of a CBI judge.
Arunachalam of Chennai will hold additional charges in the absence of Lakshminarayana, and pending the appointment of a new director. (INN)
