Campaigning Ends, Municipal Elections On January 22
A total of 120 municipalities and nine municipal corporations will go in for polling, and the results will be announced on January 25.

Election campaigning ended on Monday for municipal elections in Telangana, and the elections will take place on Wednesday, the 22nd.
A total of 120 municipalities and nine municipal corporations will go in for polls, and the results will be announced on January 25. 325 corporators for the corporations and 2,727 councillors for the municipalities will be elected.
The Karimngar Municipal Corporation will be going in for polling on January 25, and its results will be out on January 27, following by a clearance from the High Court.
The ruling TRS and the main opposition party the Congress are the main rivals, with the BJP, the TJS, the CPI and the TDP also in the poll fray.
The Commission has set up a total of 1,438 polling stations in the municipal corporations and 6,325 in the municipalities.
The State Election Commission has warned the political parties of severe action if the election code is violated.
Meanwhile, some rebels are creating panic in the TRS. Top leaders of the TRS, including ministers and MLAs, did their best to convince the rebels to withdraw from the fray, but only a few did.
