On Tuesday, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation demolished two dilapidated buildings in Uppal Circle.
The GHMC officials also visited various locations for the identification of dilapidated buildings.
They identified around 10 buildings as being unsafe for inhabitation, and issued orders for the demolition of these buildings. It must be noted that the officials had, earlier, deemed 8 other buildings as unfit for inhabitation.
The owners of the newly identified dilapidated structures have been asked to vacate the premises, demolish the structure, or to take up repair works within 7 days.
Similar demolitions took place in different circles of the GHMC.
This wave of identification and demolition was perhaps trigerred by that unfortunate incident when a building
collapsed in Secunderabad, on Monday. (INN)
