BRS working president and Telangana IT Minister K T Rama Rao exuded confidence that his party would win 90 to 100 seats in the upcoming Assembly elections due in November/December this year.
Speaking with the media, KTR said that the people of Telangana were happy with the BRS government, and there was no doubt at all that party president K Chandrashekar Rao would continue as the Chief Minister of the State for a third consecutive term.
The minister claimed that the BRS government had been working to fulfill the aspirations of the Telangana people, and that there was remarkable progress in various sectors during the last nine years. He added that CM K Chandrashekar Rao was continuously bringing in many administrative reforms to provide even better governance to the people.
Alleging that the Congress and the BJP had ruled the country for 75 years since Independence but had failed to develop the country, KTR said that the BRS government had done wonders in terms of the development in Telangana, and that the youngest State had become a role model for other States.
Referring to the expansion of the BRS, KTR said that the party was planning to contest the elections in other States, and that it had already started its activities in Andhra Pradesh.
Responding to the ongoing controversy on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) contract, the minister said that the contract had been awarded to a firm on the lines of the National Highways' tender procedures, and that his department was ready to give answers to any inquiry commission.
Reacting on the proposed delimitation process of Parliament constituencies based on population, he said that the proposed process would disproportionately impact the south-Indian States.
"A healthy debate needs to happen on the delimitation process. The south States which are progressing by following population control measures should not meet with injustice due to the proposed delimitation," KTR said.
