BRS working president K T Rama Rao today asserted that his party would never be a B-team of the BJP.
Addressing a preparatory meeting of the Bhongir parliamentary constituency, he said that the BRS did not any alliance with the BJP in the past and would never have one in the future.
He pointed out that the BRS had defeated three MPs and two MLAs of the BJP in the Assembly elections, and also that BRS leader K Chandrashekar Rao did not have a direct alliance with the BJP in his 45-year-long political career.
"If the BJP is the B-team of the BRS, will it file a case against MLC Kavitha? The reason Kavitha was not arrested was not due to our relations with the BJP but the intervention of the Supreme Court. The Congress and the BJP have conspired to damage the BRS. In the last parliamentary elections, the BJP and the Congress together defeated the BRS. In the by-elections too, the Congress and the BJP were united. Those who say that the BRS and the BJP are the same are the ones who are linking Shankaracharya to the festival of pirs," he said.
He also claimed that the EC had given a notification to hold separate elections for the two MLC by-elections due to the BJP's collusion. "As soon as CM Revanth Reddy met Amit Shah, the MLC by-election pattern changed," he said.
KTR alleged that the BJP was using religion for politics. "If we also distributed Yadradri akshitas in Nalgonda and Bhuvanagiri, we would have won. The BJP is politicising Hindus. KCR is a Hindu who sees religion as a religion. BRS is a real secular party. There is no way the party will move around any MLA. Only MLAs will move around the party. Indiscipline in the party will not be tolerated," he said.
