Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today exuded confidence that the BRS would win 95-105 seats in the upcoming Assembly elections.
Addressing the party leaders of the Gajwel Assembly constituency (which he himself represents) at a private function hall near Shamirpet on the outskirts of Hyderabad, the Chief Minister spoke about the achievements of the BRS in power, with specific focus on the agriculture sector.
He said that after the formation of Telangana State, the agriculture sector had been stabilized through the construction of irrigation projects, and people who had migrated from the State came back to their native places. He added that the State had now gone ahead to actually emerge as the "Rice Bowl of India".
"While the ground water is decreasing all over the country, it has increased in Telangana," he added.
He also hailed the "generous nature" of the Siddipet district's farmers for giving their agricultural lands for the construction of the Mallanna Sagar and Kondapochamma reservoirs, claiming that he knew of the pain of those who lost their lands for projects.
"The whole of Telangana is indebted to those farmers who lost their lands under the Kondapochamma and Mallanna Sagar projects," KCR said.
The Chief Minister also thanked the people of the Gajwel Assembly constituency for electing him as an MLA twice, and said that Gajwel needed to be developed even more in the days to come.
He also promised that he would be available to the people of the constituency for one day in every month in the third term if elected, and asked the party leaders to work for the victory of the BRS in the constituency.
