BRS MLA Kadiyam Srihari today said that there was nothing new in Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan's address to both the Houses of the State legislature.
He also suggested that the Governor should review what she had spoken in the past and what she had spoken now.
Srihari was speaking at the Assembly's media point after the Governor's address.
He said that the Governor had basically read out the Congress' manifesto in her address.
Speaking about the Governor's speech saying that Telangana had been in recession for the last ten years, he said that the Governor had forgotten that the State had received many awards at the national level.
"Telangana has overtaken Haryana and Punjab to become the top State in rice production. And hasn't per capita income in the State increased significantly?" Srihari asked. He also claimed that Hyderabad had made tremendous strides in IT products and exports.
"The Governor claims that Telangana has been freed from detention just now. It was in fact in the last 10 years that the people of Telangana breathed the air of freedom. Telangana was liberated from captivity in 2014, not now. The people of Telangana achieved statehood by coercing the Congress. It is unfortunate that the Governor is lying," he added.
Kadiyam alleged that the Congress was lying to the Governor, and also that there was no plan in the Governor's speech for implementing the Congress' six guarantees. "There is no route map for development and welfare schemes in the Governor's speech. The speech was basically the State government telling lies through the mouth of the Governor," he said, and added that there would be a proper reply from them to the white papers released by the government.
