BRS MPs today slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for speaking "lies" on the development of Telangana during his visit to Hyderabad.
Speaking at a press conference, BRS MPs Dr K Keshava Rao, K R Suresh Reddy and Venkatesh Netha said that it was completely wrong for the Prime Minister to say during his visit that Telangana was not being developed, and said that Telangana was progressing fast in all sectors and that no other State could beat it in development.
Rao said that the Prime Minister had failed to fulfil the promises of the AP Reorganisation Act despite being in office for nine years, and that he did not sanction even a single medical college to Telangana in this period.
"And even though the Centre has denied funds for the Kaleshwaram project, the BRS government completed it with its own money and is providing irrigation water to all parts of the State. Meanwhile, the Centre is collecting a huge amount of money from vehicle travellers at the toll plazas of the State by increasing the prices but is refusing to sanction projects to Telangana," Rao added.
"It has become a habit for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to speak lies. Whenever he visits Telangana, he speaks blatant lies against the family members of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. He will however not speak about the development of the State or about his own contribution to the growth of Telangana," another MP Suresh Reddy said.
