The Telangana Congress, which has taken the Lok Sabha elections prestigiously, is leaving no stone unturned to attract rival party leaders, especially those belonging to the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's recent comment that only former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao's family members would be left in the BRS if the Congress opened its gates is being seen as an indication of the party's intent to poach unmitigatedly.
Sure enough, as part of its action plan, the Congress has intensified its operation to attract more leaders from the BRS, and BRS leaders are now making a beeline to shake hands with the CM.
On Friday, former minister and BRS MLA Danam Nagender, and BRS MP Pasunuri Dayakar, called on the CM separately in the city. While Khairatabad MLA Nagender met the CM at his residence, the Warangal MP Dayakar called on Reddy at the Secretariat.
Party sources said that both the BRS leaders expressed their interest to join the Congress soon.
