Pooh-poohing the BRS ministers' challenge for a debate with Prime Minister Narendra Modi over what the Centre had given the State in the last nine years, N V Subhash, official spokesperson of Telangana BJP, today alleged that the BRS ministers and its leaders didn't have the courage to face a debate with the State BJP leaders on development works and funds sanctioned to the State, but were asking for one with the PM.
Ridiculing the claim of the BRS ministers for a debate with the Prime Minister, Subhash pointed out that the State BJP leaders had openly challenged the BRS ministers, including Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's son K T Rama Rao, to come for an open debate several times, and fix a date and time as per their own convenience. But the BRS ministers had never came forward as they had no courage to face the facts, and instead indulged in mudslinging at the Modi government for political reasons and to appease certain sections, he alleged.
"Is it not true that Prime Minister Modi laid foundation stones for and inaugurated several development works worth over Rs 11,000 crore on Saturday besides flagging off a Vande Bharat Express between Hyderbad and Tirupati? Just what does development mean for the BRS leaders? Is it furnishing magic figures and misleading people? Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had made a tall promise of making the new State as a Bangaru Telangana. But because of his inefficiency and political aspirations, he has successfully made the State debt-ridden instead," he said.
