The councillor of the 26th ward of the Sircilla municipality, Pattipaka Padma, resigned from her party, the BRS, today.
She announced that she was quitting the party as she was not able to bear the insults being meted out to her.
She said that she had been associated with the BRS ever since its formation. She had joined the Joint Action Committee formed to fight for statehood for the Telangana region after leaving the TDP, and that she had later joined the BRS following a call from K T Rama Rao and had worked hard for its development.
She alleged that she however did not receive proper respect in the party despite her hard work. She said that she was not allowed to even meet KTR, and that KTR was stopped from calling her after the death of her mother, did not visit her after the death of her mother-in-law, and was stopped from visiting her even after she was diagnosed with cancer. She asked if her hard work for the party was taken to the notice of KTR or not.
Padma released a video message after resigning from the party.
