The 9-year-old boy who was found in a pool of blood, and was suspected to have been a target of an alleged human sacrifice, died after 4 days of treatment.
After battling for life for 4 days, the 9-year-old boy who was found in a pool of blood under mysterious circumstances on Friday, died while undergoing treatment at the Gandhi hospital on Tuesday.
According to Neredmet Inspector K Venkat Reddy, the boy was identified as Vibudi Raju, a resident of Vinayakanagar.
The boy had gone to a neighbourhood kirana store to buy detergents on Thursday night but did not return home. He was found in a pool of blood by the watchman of an under-construction building near his (Raju's) home the next day. Raju's parents had alleged that the attack on the boy had been part of a human sacrifice by the builder, who also runs the kirana store to which the boy had gone.
Preliminary investigations had led the police to surmise that the boy was attacked by boulders on his head and face.
He was then shifted to the hospital where he was undergoing treatment. The police has been questioning 7 persons in connection with the attack on the boy.
Meanwhile, the Neredmet police has changed the case from an attempted murder case to a murder case. (INN)
