Bomb Threat To Ameerpet Metro Station Proved A Hoax
A call from an unknown man on Sunday claiming to have spotted a bag full of explosives at the Ameerpet metro station sent the Hyderabad police into a tizzy.
Acting on a phone call made by an unknown person claiming to have spotted an abandoned bag full of explosives at the Ameerpet metro station, the Hyderabad police immediately sprung into action on Sunday morning.
Teams of police personnel and anti-bomb squads rushed to the station and conducted thorough checks. They heaved a sigh of relief upon finding that the bag belonged to a metro rail worker and contained nothing objectionable.
The police later informed the media that the S R Nagar police station had received a phone call about the abandoned bag, leading to the extensive search.
Meanwhile, taking serious objection to the bomb threat being telecast on a vernacular news channel, HMRL managing director N V S Reddy said that the bag had been returned to its rightful owner, and that commuters need not panic over the incident.
