Mild tension prevailed at the Secunderabad Railway Station for a few hours on Tuesday when an anonymous person called up to the control room, claiming that a bomb has been planted at Platform No. 9.
Acting swiftly, the bomb and dog squads of the Government Railway Police and Railway Protection Force were pressed into service.
The entire area was evacuated and barricaded.
After thorough check, the information was found to be incorrect. According to sources, the call was made from a mobile phone belonging to a person from Prakasam district.
The caller's identity is being ascertained for further investigations. (INN)
