The Telangana police department went on high alert today immediately after an unknown person dialed 100 and said that there was a bomb in Praja Bhavan, where Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka resides.
Soon after receiving the phone call, the intelligence security wing and the Hyderabad city security wing swung into action and deployed forces.
The bomb and dog squad teams carried out inspections in every part in Praja Bhavan for two hours. Under the supervision of Panjagutta ACP Manohar Kumar, searches were carried out from the entrance of Praja Bhavan, and covered all the rooms inside the residence, the visitor halls, the Deputy Chief Minister's chamber, the gym, the garden and the surrounding areas.
The police also thoroughly inspected all the vehicles of Vikramarka's convoy and his family members. After that they inspected the Ammavari temple in premises. Inspections were also held in the surrounding areas of Praja Bhavan.
The police finally concluded that it was a hoax call.
Meanwhile, the police are also searching for the person who called to claim that there was a bomb, and are attempting to track him based on cell phone signals.
