The Telangana Bharosa Yatra launched by the Bharatiya Janata Party, on 16 April, in Mahbubnagar, reached Hyderabad on Wednesday.
The yatra, launched by the BJP Yuva Morcha, was welcomed at Koti crossroads by senior party leaders, including former union minister Bandaru Dattatreyya.
Later, the yatra proceeded towards Gun Park, where the BJP leaders paid homage to those who died for the Telangana cause.
Speaking on the occasion, Bandaru said that the yatra was launched to create awareness among students and youth of the region against committing suicide for the statehood cause.
He claimed that the yatra has increased self-confidence among students and Telangana activists over the formation of Telangana.
Stating that over 860 students have committed suicide so far for the cause of Telangana, he appealed to the youth not to lose their hope.
BJP Yuva Morcha state president Dr. K Venkateswarlu called upon students to not end their lives for the cause of Telangana statehood.
He reiterated that the BJP would pass a bill on Telangana in the Parliament if it comes to power at the Centre in the 2014 elections.
The 10-day Bharosa Yatra will conclude in Warangal, on 26 April. (INN)
