Telangana BJP president K Laxman on Sunday said that the TRS government would be defeated in the next elections, and that the saffron party would form the government in Telangana.
Speaking to the media in Bhongir, the BJP leader alleged that the TRS government was following in the footsteps of the Congress and had lost the confidence of the people.
Laxman claimed that the Centre had sanctioned welfare schemes costing Rs 1.5 lakh crores to Telangana, but that the TRS government was not sincere in implementing those schemes.
He also said that under the TRS rule there was no democracy in the state, and blamed both Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and TPCC president Uttam Kumar Reddy for failing miserably in addressing the unemployment issue.
Outlining the party's strategy for the 2019 polls, Laxman said that BJP was now taking steps to strengthen itself at the booth level. He also said that the party leaders were visiting the districts across Telangana to study the current political situation.
