Telangana Rashtra Samithi Medak MP Vijayashanti, on Saturday, accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of trying to split pro-Telangana votes by fielding its candidate from the Parakala Assembly constituency.
Talking to media persons, Vijayashanti said that the conditions prevailing in the Parakala constituency were different from those in the Mahabubnagar constituency, where the BJP candidate won the recent by-elections.
She appealed to the BJP to drop its candidates and support the TRS in the by-elections, there.
Vijayashanti expressed confidence that the Telangana Political Joint Action committee would support the TRS' candidature.
She said that to prevent a split of votes in Parakala, the TP-JAC must take a favourable decision towards supporting the TRS in the elections.
She said that a vote split would benefit Seemandhra forces and expose the disunity among Telangana parties and leaders.
Meanwhile, Vijayashanti also appealed to the state government to extend assistance to farmers whose crops were damaged due to heavy rains in Dubbaka. (INN)
