Telangana BJP president G Kishan Reddy today alleged that the TRS government was neglecting the repairing of the roads in the twin cities.
Reddy was speaking at a dharna camp organized by the party against the pathetic condition of the roads and the gross dereliction by the GHMC of its duty to get them repaired.
The party organized the dharna at the Nallakunta crossroads in protest against the government's negligent attitude to issue.
"The roads in the city are in a very bad condition and are causing hardship to the citizens," Kishan Reddy said. He alleged that the GHMC authorities were not serious about repairing the roads.
Pointing out that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was frequently trumpeting that the city would be transformed into a world class city "Viswanagaram", the BJP leader said that the former seemed to be keen on making Hyderabad as a "Kastala Nagaram" (problem city) instead.
He warned that his party would intensify the agitation if the KCR government failed to rise to the occasion and take urgent steps to fix the roads.
Greater Hyderabad BJP president B Venkat Reddy and city party leaders, and a large number of party workers including women, participated in the dharna.
