Stating that the BJP's 3-day deeksha in Delhi was successful, BJP state president Kishan Reddy says that the party would intensify its agitation on statehood in the next Parliament session.
BJP state president G Kishan Reddy, on Friday, reiterated that his party was not ready to accept anything except the formation of a separate Telangana state.
Talking to media persons at Gun Park after paying tributes to people who died for the cause of Telangana statehood, Kishan Reddy said that his party would not accept either financial packages or development councils in place of the bifurcation of the state.
He said that the BJP would also not accept Hyderabad as a joint capital for both Seemandhra and Telangana, "even for a few days".
Kishan Reddy, who just returned from New Delhi after holding a 3-day Telangana Poru Deeksha at Jantar Mantar, criticised the Centre's need to have a consensus on the statehood demand.
He demanded that the Congress clarify its stand on the subject. Stating that the BJP's 3-day Deeksha was successful, he said that the party would intensify its agitation on statehood in the next Parliament session.
The BJP president claimed that the Poru Deeksha has forced the government to change its approach towards the matter.
"Everyone has realized that Telangana state formation would be possible only with the BJP," he stated.
He said that the party would conduct awareness camps about the Telangana issue, from villages to districts, across the Telangana region. (INN)
