Govt Must Solve T-Issue: BJP

The BJP hit out at the government for its seeming lack of interest over the Telangana issue
Hyderabad | 16th September 2010
Former Bharatiya Janata Party state unit president Bandaru Dattatreya visited the Andhra Pradesh High Court on Thursday, to express his party's solidarity to the protesting lawyers from Telangana.

After interacting with the protestors, Bandaru told media persons that the Congress government is in a slumber over the separate Telangana issue despite the demands for bifurcation growing more vociferous.

The BJP leader hit out at the government for its seeming lack of interest over the issue, and said, "The government does not appear to be interested to solve the Telangana issue, and is maintaining silence despite the rising resentment among people."

The senior BJP leader warned the government that the situation may turn from bad to worse if it did not take immediate action over the Telangana lawyers' demands to provide 42% quota in Judiciary postings.

Dattatreya also expressed his concern about the health of the lawyers who are on a hunger strike.
