Telangana BJP President G Kishan Reddy on Tuesday announced that his party would celebrate the Hyderabad Liberation Day on Wednesday on a grand scale.
Addressing a press conference at the State BJP office, Kishan Reddy said that the celebrations would be held in all the party offices across the State.
He will himself hoist the national flag at the State BJP headquarters at Nampally at 7:30am.
Reddy strongly condemned the State government for not celebrating the occasion officially.
He said the Hyderabad Liberation Day celebration was an official event in the districts of Karnataka and Maharashtra, which were part of the erstwhile Hyderabad State.
He alleged that the TRS government was avoiding an official celebration due to pressure from the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen.
He said that the previous Congress regime too declined requests for official celebrations.
The BJP leader said that the people of Telangana would teach Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and his party a nice lesson if the latter failed to stop dancing to the tunes of the MIM.
Meanwhile, addressing a separate press conference, BJP National Executive member Nagam Janardhan Reddy reminded that last year KCR had promised to celebrate the Hyderabad Liberation Day at an official level after the formation of Telangana.
He alleged that KCR however went back on his promise for political reasons. (INN)
