Firebrand BJP MLA Raja Singh today made sensational remarks against some of his own party leaders, accusing them of engaging in secret meetings with the Congress.
Singh claimed that the backdoor dealings were hampering the BJP's chances of coming to power. "If BJP leaders continue to meet with the ruling party behind closed doors, when will we form the government in Telangana?" he asked.
The Goshamahal MLA urged the BJP's central leadership to take corrective measures against the leaders who while claiming loyalty to the BJP were allegedly working against its interests.
Singh said that the BJP needed to assume power quickly for the protection of the interests of the Hindus in the State, and that "old baggage" and certain long-standing leaders be removed from the party to facilitate its rise.
For the unversed, a month ago Singh had written a letter advocating greater inclusion of SCs, STs and minorities within the party to strengthen its position against the Congress and the BRS. He had also said that several State BJP leaders, who had held influence for years, needed to be expelled to ensure the party's success in upcoming elections.
The MLA also claimed to possess information on BJP leaders who had been in touch with the Congress after its recent electoral victory in Telangana, and had vowed to formally lodge a complaint with the party's national leadership, intensifying speculation in political circles regarding internal rifts within the BJP.
