BJP State president & union minister G Kishan Reddy today said that the party had intensified its campaigning after releasing its manifesto with many senior leaders participating in the election campaigning vigorously, and that the party was getting a good response from the public.
Speaking to media persons, Reddy said that after the release of the election manifesto, several sections were getting drawn closer to the party, and that a silent revolution had begun in favour of the party particularly among the dalits and other oppressed sections.
"The BRS has failed to implement the promises that it had made to the people before the last two elections. The people are now even preventing the party's campaign vehicles from entering their villages. They are asking the BRS leaders about a dalit not being made the CM, the promised loan waivers, the problems with Dharani, government vacancies not being filled etc, and grilling them. They also know that the BRS looted the State through the Kaleshwaram project. It is guaranteed that now the BRS government will be dislodged by the public, and change is clearly visible," Reddy said.
He said that the Congress too had betrayed the people of the State. "The Congress was responsible for the deaths of 365 students in the first phase of the Telangana agitation, and 1,200 students and youth in the second phase. It looted the State through Jala Yagnam. And the people do not believe that the Congress will deliver on its guarantees as it had failed to implement them in both Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh," he added.
"The BJP however stands by its words. We withstood all the international pressures and cancelled Article 370 and the triple talaq practice. We have addressed all sections in our manifesto. The people believe that the BJP will extend good governance with transparency to Telangana, and we are confident of coming to power in the State," he said.
