Telangana BJP President G Kishan Reddy on Saturday informed that his party would organise a massive dharna in Karimnagar on October 27 to highlight the problems being faced by farmers in Telangana.
Addressing a press conference, Reddy criticised Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for distancing himself from the farmers' suicides.
Criticising the Chief Minister's behaviour, he said that KCR should take an all-party delegation to the Governor and Centre to resolve the ongoing agrarian crisis.
He said that if naxalites were obstructing the power supply from Chattisgarh, then the government should speak to them and resolve the matter. Similarly, KCR should speak to his Andhra Pradesh counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu.
He said that the BJP would enter agitation mode from October 27 in protest against the State Government's failure to resolve the farmers' issues.
Kishan Reddy said that the Telangana BJP would also organise a workshop on the issues of farmers and the energy crisis on October 28.
Speaking about the arrest of two alleged SIMI activists, the BJP President said that the city police force should improve its intelligence gathering mechanism and keep a tap on the activities of the terror outfits and their sleeper cells.
He also demanded a probe into the link between bank robberies and terror funding. (INN)
