Lashing out at prominent Telugu daily Andhra Jyothi for publishing articles by eminent psychologist C Narasimha Rao against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP activists today tried to lay siege to its main office at Jubilee Hills.
However, the police foiled their efforts and erected barricades before the office.
The BJP activists then continued to raised slogans against the daily and demanded that it to stop publishing the articles right away.
Some BJP activists even tried to remove the barricades leading to tension for some time. The police detained some BJP activists on the occasion.
Meanwhile, Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao condemned the actions of the BJP activists. He said that the BJP activists' "unruly" actions were against the freedom of expression and a free press.
