TRS MLC Ramulu Naik on Saturday informed that the TRS government would soon introduce a bill in the State Legislative Assembly to provide 12% reservation for Scheduled Tribes in Telangana.
Speaking to media persons at Telangana Bhavan, Naik said that the TRS government was firm in its commitment to the welfare of STs.
Stating that the STs had played a major role in the victory of the TRS in the recent elections, he said that the government would take all steps for the socio-economic and educational development of the community.
He said that the efforts would start with the legislation to provide 12% reservation to STs in government jobs and education.
Naik also said that the TRS would engage all its resources to retain the Medak Lok Sabha seat in the by-elections to be held on September 13. (INN)
