Normal life remained paralysed for the second consecutive day, on Saturday, at Bhadrachalam, following the 72-hour bandh call given by pro-Telangana groups, opposing the proposal to merge Bhadrachalam town into the Seemandhra region after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
While pro-Telangana activists staged rasta-rokos and dharnas at several places, public transport was badly hit, with activists not allowing the RTC to ply 118 buses from the depot.
A majority of shops, business establishments and educational institutions too remained closed.
The activists are demanding that Bhadrachalam remain part of Telangana state, after the state's bifurcation.
All district political parties have also called for a Khammam bandh on November 19, to press for the demand. (INN)
