Stop Bejawada Rowdilu: Sobha Rani
Former PRP Women's Wing Chairperson Sobha Rani was at the AP Film Chamber, demanding that film director Ram Gopal Varma stop making his upcoming movie "Bejawada Rowdilu".
Former Praja Rajyam Party Women's Wing Chairperson Sobha Rani today stirred up a commotion at the AP Film Chamber, demanding that film director Ram Gopal Varma stop making his upcoming movie "Bejawada Rowdilu". She threw around chairs and files at the office, and screamed at the officials there, in her bid to elicit answers from the Film Chamber.
She said she and her supporters would allow Bejawada Rowdilu to go forward only if Ram Gopal Varma agrees to her flick "Naa Peru Ram G Varma - Nenu Oka Psycho Ni".
Sobha Rani, who is against the making of the film itself, had earlier said that she had a problem with the fact that the Film Chamber, which is the registering authority of the film, had officially approved the registration of Bejawada Rowdilu.
Today, she sought an answer to why a committee was not formed as told to her in reponse to a memorandum she had submitted earlier in this regard.
Sobha Rani today claimed that the title of the flick was derogatory to the people of Vijayawada. She said that Raktha Charithra, Varma's earlier film (which was based on real-life gang-wars and the lives of faction rivals Paritala Ravi and Maddelacheruvu Suri) had serious repurcussions on society, adding that Suri had died after it was released.
She added that she was predicting that there would be a lot of bloodshed with the release of the flick.
The leader demanded that Ram Gopal Varma immediately stop making the movie, saying that she will make all efforts to block its release if he does not.
