Telugu film producer Bandla Ganesh today joined the Congress in New Delhi in the presence of AICC chief Rahul Gandhi.
Gandhi invited Ganesh into the party by offering him a shawl in the party colours.
Speaking to the media later, Ganesh said that he was ready to do whatever the Congress asked of him, and contest from wherever the party asked him to.
Responding to a much-anticipated question, Ganesh said that Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan was like a father to him, but he had liked the Congress right since his childhood.
He also said that he had a desire to take oath as an MLA for long. "I have entered politics to serve the people. And I am feeling proud and happy at joining the Congress, since that is the party most suited for the purpose," he said.
Asked whether he was expecting the Jubilee Hills ticket, Ganesh said that he had joined the party unconditionally, and hadn't spoken about that issue with Rahul Gandhi. He reiterated that he would follow the directions of the party.
