Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and IT Minister Sridhar Babu today inaugurated a facility of Netflix's Eyeline Studios - a hub for world-class VFX and virtual production for the streaming giant's films and web series - in Hyderabad.
Actor Rana Daggubati, Eyeline Studios CEO Jeff Shapiro, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting Secretary Sanjay Jaju, Secretary to the Chief Minister B Ajith Reddy, and several top Netflix executives took part in the launch event.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said, "The launch of Netflix's Eyeline Studios is proof of India's and Telangana's growing role in shaping the future of global entertainment. Eyeline Studios will further strengthen the vibrant Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics (AVGC) sector in Hyderabad. It will help create advanced skilling initiatives and high-quality employment opportunities for local creative and technical talent."
The Chief Minister also promised full support for Netflix's further expansion in Hyderabad, and detailed plans for building a dedicated Entertainment Zone and AI City in Bharat Future City, which would be home to Fortune 500 companies.
"We also invite Netflix to set up a corporate office in Bharat Future City. We are ready to extend all possible support. Just as Netflix sources talent and content from across the world for global viewers, Hyderabad connects opportunities and talent worldwide. Hyderabad is a natural home for Netflix," he said.
He also said that several Telugu films had received global applause in recent times, and expressed hope that Eyeline Studios in Hyderabad would support and encourage Telugu filmmakers in the years to come.
"I am sure that with the coming of the Netflix Eyeline facility here, we will see more content showcasing Telangana to global audiences. The launch of Eyeline Studios marks the arrival of Hollywood in Hyderabad and access to it for our own filmmakers," he said.
