Telugu film actor and producer Bandla Ganesh, who recently joined the Congress hoping to get an MLA ticket, received a rude shock as he was ignored by the party high command.
Ganesh tried hard to get either the Rajendra Nagar or the Jubilee Hills constituency ticket, but his efforts went in vain.
However, the efforts do not seem to have been nearly enough.
Ganesh was an ardent supporter of Pawan Kalyan originally, but joined the Congress since the Jana Sena hasn't really made any impact in Telangana. His joining the party attracted a good bit of attention. After joining the party, Ganesh made several pungent remarks against the TRS government. In a TV show he took a mock oath as an MLA imitating a
Bharath Ane Nenu dialogue, that went viral on the social media. In several TV interviews, Ganesh also proclaimed that he would be contesting from the Rajendranagar Assembly constituency. Political analysts feel that he missed the bus due to his hyperactivism. Also, the Rajendranagar constituency went to the TDP as part of seat-sharing among the Mahakootami constituents, and the ticket was given to Ganesh Gupta of the TDP.
Meanwhile, to pacify the demoralized actor-producer, TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy today appointed him as an official spokesperson of the party.
