Defending Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, Tribal Welfare Minister P Balaraju, on Saturday, said that the concerns raised by him over the proposed bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh were genuine.
Talking to reporters at the Congress Legislature Party office, Balaraju said that the CM's concern that issues like water-sharing, power, irrigation and employment should be addressed before the bifurcation, should not be taken in a negative sense.
He defended Kiran Kumar Reddy, saying that the latter has been developing the state with a clear vision ever since he took over as the Chief Minister, and that it was only right that he clarifies that crucial issues like sharing of resources be resolved before dividing the state.
"Instead of taking a serious view of the points raised by the Chief Minister, Telangana leaders are trying to brand him as a rebel of the Congress High Command," he said.
He said that the CM never went against the decisions of Congress party, and that he would never do so in future.
Rudraraju Padamaraju, the government whip in the Legislative Council, was also present. (INN)
