Telangana supporters are suspected to have tried to set off a blast at a farmhouse belonging to Vijayawada Congress MP Lagadapati Rajagopal, in Kondapur in Hyderabad.
Burnt gelatine sticks and a letter titled "Telangana Amara Jeevula Sakshiga" were found in the courtyard of the farmhouse. Not all the gelatin sticks found in the premises exploded.
Lagadapati, meanwhile, has claimed that he believes that it was supporters of Jagan and not of Telangana, that resorted to the act.
Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy has ordered a probe into the mischief.
Lagadapati Rajagopal has, earlier, professed strong pro - United AP sentiments, and has often attracted the ire of those fighting for a separate Telangana state. He is also a proven Jagan rival, within the Congress.
