Telangana Rashtra Samithi MLA T Harish Rao strongly condemned the attack on the vehicle of Congress MP V Hanumantha Rao in Tirupati on Saturday.
Addressing a press conference at Telangana Bhavan here, Harish Rao said that not a single Seemandhra leader or their convoys were attacked during the prolonged Telangana agitation.
However, by attacking VHR's vehicle, the Seemandhra leaders tried to convey a message that they treat Telangana people as their subjects.
He said that the attack was an expression of hatred.
Harish said that attacking the leader who visited the temple for a darshan of Lord Balaji was aimed at defaming the Hindu religion.
He said that Tirupati belongs to all Hindus and it should kept clean from all kind of politics.
Warning the state government of dire consequences, he demanded a high level enquiry and immediate action against those responsible for the act.
He said that the Seemandhra leaders should tender an unconditional apology for the incident.
The TRS leader also alleged that employees and workers from the Telangana region were being attacked in the Seemandhra region.
He appealed to Seemandhra leaders to ensure a peaceful and smooth division of the state. (INN)
