Arya Vysya Sangham Seeks Congress Stand On Ilaiah

Hyderabad | 2nd October 2017
The Arya-Vysya Sangham has demanded that Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee chief Uttam Kumar Reddy come out with the party's stand on the Kancha Ilaiah issue.

In a letter addressed to the TPCC president, the Sangham pointed out that while the Telangana Congress had not yet formally responded on the issue, AICC leaders had made a statement in Delhi in favour of Ilaiah, who wrote a book opprobrious to the community titled "Samajika Smugglarlu Komatollu".

The Sangham in its letter said that the Congress had hurt the feelings of the community with its silence. They asked the party to mount pressure on the state government as the main opposition party to ban Ilaiah's book.
