All the government websites and online services in Telangana will go offline for two days, from 9:00 pm on July 9 (Friday) till 9:00 pm on July 11 (Sunday).
A government statement explained that this is because the Telangana State Data Centre (SDC) will carry out a scheduled maintenance activity to set up a new UPS unit SDC premises, located in the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation in Hyderabad's Gachibowli area.
The UPS is being upgraded on the advice of tech experts who have recommended that the government replace the existing UPS unit with a new one. The government hopes that the new UPS system will allow it to provide uninterrupted online services to the people of the state in the future.
The statement on the matter explains, "The replacement of the UPS will ensure trouble-free access to online services in the long run. The existing UPS at the SDC is unable to provide backup for a long period during power failures or fluctuations."
Further, it is likely that some other systems will also be upgraded during the two-day period.
As a result of the installation and upgrades, therefore, all online government services will be suspended for two days - no government orders will be issued during this period.
