While many in the state are gripped by "vaccine hesitancy", prominent personality, Apollo Life chairperson and the editor of B Positive magazine, Upasana Kamineni, today took the Covid-19 vaccine.
Speaking on the occasion, she said that she hoped that her decision to get inoculated would also assure the people of the state of the vaccine's safety and efficacy.
"I hope the people in the state who are scared of getting immunised against Covid-19 will see now that the vaccine is a safe one. In case of any adverse reactions in those injected against the disease, many health facilities dedicated to dealing with the same will look after the affected persons. I hope this will encourage the vaccine hesitant people to get immunised," Kamineni said.
Reiterating her appeal to the people, the celebrity urged them to take the vaccine without any fear.
Pictures of Kamineni, daughter-in-law of film star Chiranjeevi, receiving the injection were shared by producer B A Raju on his official Twitter handle soon after her visit to the immunisation centre.
The founder of the Apollo Hospitals group Pratap Reddy also took the vaccine soon after the launch of the ongoing state-wide vaccination drive.
To allay fears regarding the vaccine among the people of Telangana, Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan had also reassured the people that the
Covid-19 injection was completely safe, earlier this month.
