The contract employees of AP Power Generation Corporation (APGENCO) demanded that the state government regularise their services.
Speaking to media persons at Indira Park, where contract employees staged a dharna, union president R Sai Babu said that the government should regularise the services as it had done with the contract employees of Roads & Buildings Department without any conditions.
Accusing the government of violating the agreements that it had made with the contract employees in the past, he threatened that the contract employees would go on a mass strike if their services were not regularised.
Sai Babu also opposed the proposed bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
He said that the contract employees would support the agitation to keep the state united. (INN)
